![]() For any guest, it offers the opportunity to make lifelong “bucket list” memories. Given the breadth of our amenities for all ages, we do tend to see a number of families that return to the Resort year over year. How would you describe the guests and the vibe at Hualalai? The starting rate for the Two Bedroom Kahuwai suite is $10,995/night. It is particularly great for guests traveling with friends or family, as the Kahuwai suite can be booked alongside the other rooms of Bungalow 0 for a full buy-out. Its location offers a certain element of privacy. ![]() The oceanfront suite has two bedrooms, three bathrooms, an expansive living area and more-with our largest private pool and direct beach walk-out access. Situated at the Resort’s edge within “Bungalow 0,” our Kahuwai suite is one Hualālai's best kept secrets. What do you consider to be the best room at the property and why? We asked Charlie Parker, Regional Vice President and Hualalai’s GM, to explain the allure. That said, there is one that is favored above all by guests in the know. You feel spoiled checking into any one of them. There are seven pools (including the King’s Pond, stocked with 1,000 tropical fish and rays, snorkel equipment, and an onsite marine biologist), five excellent restaurants just steps from the water’s edge (and the best breakfast buffet my kids have ever been to-and they are self-proclaimed experts in this field), access to any sort of ocean activity (book the catamaran that takes you to secret coves), and a spa and gym setup I still dream about months later.īut best of all are the rooms, which aren’t really rooms at all, but rather villa-like structures that camouflage into the coastline when seen from a boat just yards offshore but, from the inside, are spacious, luxuriously appointed dwellings, many complete with outdoor spaces and outdoor showers (my favorite!). Nevertheless, it’s really not possible to be disappointed. You are going to love it, you are going to flip out, you are never going to want to leave. It is, without fail, one of the best if not the best place they’ve ever been to. When you tell people who have been to The Four Seasons Hualalai, discreetly situated along a meandering stretch of Kona coastline on Hawaii’s Big Island, that you are about to go, the reaction is visceral. Note: The 18-hole Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, excellent spa and huge fitness center are open only to hotel guests and members. Our column "The Best Room At" offers a glimpse inside some of the most charming, luxurious, and iconic properties around the world. Kudos to the Four Seasons for bucking the resort-fee trend, for not charging for its children’s or cultural programs, and for numerous environmental measures, including support for the Hawaiian Legacy Hardwoods’ koa reforestation. Dinner at Ulu Ocean Grill or the Beach Tree is consistently excellent, if costly it can be hard to tear yourself away in search of cheaper options nearly a half-hour away. All have views of the ocean or one of seven swimming pools the adults-only Palm Grove Pool offers a swim-up bar and daybeds, but snorkeling in Kings’ Pond amid rays and tropical fish remains a top draw. ![]() Rooms in the small clusters of two-story guest-room buildings and villa start at 635 square feet, with private lanais and large bathrooms outfitted with glass-walled showers and deep soaking tubs ask for one with an outdoor lava-rock shower. Sometimes you do get what you pay for-and that’s just about anything you could desire at this serenely welcoming resort, only a 15-minute drive from the airport but worlds away from anything resembling hustle and bustle.
