Everyone wants different things on the stick - so that is a preference. There are a few videos on YouTube giving a basic run through of setup. Hey if your dad played 'Jane's Longbow' I think he is smarter than you give him credit for. The button layout doesn't need to be perfect, just reasonably functional. My goal is to find my dad the lowest barrier to entry in this game that will give him a relatively good experience. One thing I could easily help him with is replacing the default config file for the game with a custom config with a typical button layout for the logitech joystick, or help him apply the joystick settings in the in-game menu.ĭoes the config file for this game store joystick settings where we could simply replace the config file with one that already has the joystick setup? Unfortunately, I don't play any flying games, so I won't be much use to him giving advice. This will be his first gaming experience in probably 10+ years. He wants to play FSX Steam Edition with the joystick, but he doesn't really know how to configure the joystick buttons for the game (nor does he have the time). He's gaming experiences are a short list relating back to the mid 90's with games like Janes Longbow (he may have dabbled in Descent and FS2). My brother and I bought this game for my dad, who's 59.
